The Science Of Wall•E

WALL•E is set in the far future where humans have left Earth on a giant ship called the Axiom because of all the garbage pile-up. The film is a family friendly story of a quirky robot on a quest to keep Eve, his soul mate, by his side. After the films release, Disney Educational Productions wanted to create educational classroom content around the films scientific themes. With my passion for the film and my extensive previous work with Bill Nye The Science Guy, I was hired to create 2 short form educational videos about The Science Of Wall•E.

Gravity’s Effect On Humans

Wall•E’s portrayal of the humans aboard the Axiom is that of blob-ish, lazy loafers. In this video Bill Nye describes the real effect on humans if there were no gravity.

Eco Robots: Technology and the Environment

Wall•E is an acronym for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class. He is a robot with the task of cleaning up earths trash. In this video we interviewed real scientists from the USC Robotics Research Lab and Jet Propulsion Laboratory. These are experts in the field of robotics and they discuss how we are currently using robots to assists in environmental clean up process.
